Newborn Photography- FAQs
The time to have newborn photography is so special, but your first time can have you full of questions.
I am here to walk you through the ins and outs with some frequently asked questions.

When is the best time to book your newborn session?
It's best to book in your first or second trimester. (But please don't hesitate to reach out if you're beyond that or if baby is already here!)
I book a limited number of newborns each month to ensure I am able to schedule within the ideal time frame for newborn photos.

When does the session take place?
I like to schedule newborns as close to day 14 as possible. This is the best time to capture those sleepy and curled up newborn poses.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if your baby has already arrived and is older that my ideal time frame. I have photographed newborns as old as 3 months, and was still able to achieve beautiful sleepy images.

how do I pre-book when I do not know when my baby is going to be born?
Birth and the immediate after care can be unpredictable for both mom and baby.
I use your due date as a placeholder until both mom and baby have been released home from the hospital. Once baby is born, I will send over your session date and time. Please note, sessions will typically take place Monday - Thursday and will generally start at 9 or 10 a.m. If an older sibling who naps is also being photographed, we will plan around nap time and adjust as needed.

What happens if my baby arrives early and spends time in the NICU?
I ask that parents reach out immediately after birth, and to keep me updated on baby’s progress and release date. Once baby is released, we schedule a little more time for the session and work at baby’s pace.

What if my baby has special needs?
I have worked with babies on oxygen, babies with broken collar bones, torticollis, and other common newborn ailments. As long as your pediatrician feels baby is safe to go ahead with the session, you can fill me in on any special instructions and limitations, and we're good to go.

What does it cost to book?
There is a $50 non-refundable retainer in order to hold your due date. This retainer is not an additional fee. It is applied to your session fee.

Will I need to bring anything to my session?
You will not need to bring anything to your session other than personal items needed to care for baby.
I offer a fully stocked newborn studio. However, I understand that my clients may have sentimental items they would like to include.
These items are welcomed.

Can siblings participate?
Yes, siblings are welcomed during the newborn session when you book a Deluxe or Premium Session.
Siblings are not included in the Petite Newborn Sessions.
